Your Leather's Story
Each piece we make has a journey. And it's a sustainable one. Let us tell you about it...
A Lake District Regenerative Farming Collective
The Parnassus Farms
Our fellowship of Lake District farms - each rooted in regenerative principles - forms the backbone of Parnassus. From upland fells to woodland pastures, our farmers share a commitment to restoring ecosystems and producing food with integrity. Together, we not only supported Parnassus into being but also completed a missing link: giving purpose to our hides, ensuring every part of our animals is valued, and reducing waste. The story of every farm is told through the leather Parnassus creates.
Gowbarrow Hall Farm
Home to Parnassus founders Claire and Sam Beaumont, Gowbarrow Hall Farm embodies the principles that inspired the brand’s creation. Their regenerative approach restores soil, supports biodiversity, and produces high-welfare livestock. Parnassus was born from their vision to give value and purpose to every animal's life, closing the loop between farm and product.
Ashlack Hall Farm
Ashlack Hall Farm merges farming, food, and hospitality with a regenerative ethos. Their Whitebred Shorthorn and Galloway cattle graze naturally across the Lake District landscape, supporting rare species and soil health. Parnassus collaborates with them to transform each of their cattle hides into something sustainably beautiful.
Strickley Farm
An organic low-input dairy farm in the South Lakes, Strickley Farm, is a beacon of regenerative agriculture. Their native Dairy Shorthorn cattle graze freely across fell and valley land, restoring biodiversity and soil health. Parnassus partners with them to honour every hide from their cattle and create a circular economy.
Whinpot Farm
Whinpot Farm blends regenerative livestock farming with conservation mentorship. Their Shetland cattle graze diverse pastures, enriching habitats and producing nutrient-rich beef. Parnassus’ partnership with them ensures nothing is wasted from their animals. Their hides reflect a great respect for the Lake District land and communities.
Howside Farm
High in the Western Lakes, Howside Farm is part of a pioneering conservation project using native cattle to regenerate wild landscapes. Managed with minimal intervention, the land thrives with growing biodiversity and healthier soils. Parnassus works with Ennerdale to transform their hides into leather that carries the story of restoration.
Supporting British Agriculture & Industry
Partners in Sustainability
At Parnassus Leather, we work alongside a collective of British makers, tanneries, and finishers who share a commitment to sustainability, regeneration, and heritage craftsmanship. Starting at the farms, right through to every finished piece, we have selected partnerships to reflect our mission of creating transparent and fully traceable luxury leather. Together, these collaborations contribute to supporting British industry, sustainable fashion, and regenerative agriculture.
British Pasture Leather
A pioneering duo creating fully traceable leather from regenerative farms, British Pasture Leather connects makers who share an ethos of transparency and environmentally responsible business practices. For Parnassus, they’re both mentor and collaborator - guiding the brand toward partners who uphold the same values of integrity and sustainability.
The Finishers
Family-run for decades in Northamptonshire, Blenkinsop Leathers Ltd are master leather finishers known for their expertise and care. Under the leadership of the Blenkinsop family, the business has grown while maintaining its traditional values. Partnering with Parnassus, they bring each hide to life with precision finishing that honours British heritage and sustainable craft.
The Tannery
Established in 1840, Thomas Ware & Sons is one of Britain’s last great traditional tanneries. Their vegetable tanning methods combine heritage skill with responsible practice, creating leather of depth, durability, and beauty. Thomas Ware & Sons works closely with Parnassus to ensure every hide retains its integrity in a natural, sustainable, and proudly British way.
Artisan Makers Beorma
Founded by Alex Simpson, Beorma brings new life to Britain’s leatherworking heritage. After rescuing a four-generation factory from closure, Alex built a brand underpinned by skill, sustainability, and community. Partnering with Parnassus, Beorma crafts timeless pieces from Lake District hides that celebrate British industry and the enduring beauty of hand-made leather.
Artisan Makers Leather, Needle, Thread
A small British workshop dedicated to precision and craft, Leather, Needle, Thread blends traditional techniques with thoughtful modern design. Guided by the same respect for sustainability and provenance as Parnassus, they transform responsibly tanned hides into refined, functional creations that embody care and authenticity.
