About Whinpot Farm

Whinpot Farm spans 150 acres in Cumbria, combining owned land with conservation grazing agreements. Since 2004, Ruth and her husband have transformed it into a thriving, regenerative system where native, award winning, Shetland cattle graze diverse wood pastures and rare breeds help sustain biodiversity. Their 100% grass-fed beef reflects their care for soil, habitat, and animal welfare. Through her advisory work, Ruth supports other farmers exploring regenerative methods, fostering collaboration and resilience. Partnering with Parnassus extends that ethos, ensuring their hides are valued, not wasted, and contributing to a truly circular, community-focused farming economy. “Sharing food with people we know is a big part of why we do this. We care about local farming communities and want to support them. Seeing farmers collaborate more, especially small farmers, would be great. If we do things collectively, I think there's a massive opportunity there.”
