Traditional Farming, Forward Thinking

About the Farm

An organic dairy farm in Cumbria, Strickley Farm has been rooted in the same landscape for over 150 years and handed down through generations. Now led by James Robinson, he still runs the farm with the same regenerative principles as his grandparents: nurturing soil health, protecting wildlife habitats, and maintaining diversity across their heritage Dairy Shorthorn herd. Strickley Farm is proof that traditional farming and modern sustainability can thrive together. By using hides from their cows, Parnassus is helping to ensure every part of their animals are valued. Our shared commitment to circular farming and biodiversity forms the foundation of a strong, values-driven partnership between Strickley Farm and Parnassus.

James Robinson

“I have little moments where I see something amazing on the farm and realise it's because of how we've farmed. If we overgrazed, these moments wouldn’t happen - it’s all part of this butterfly effect, where one change leads to another and it builds this functioning ecosystem.”
